The Bahraini national Haifa al-Musawi was ranked
number 6th in Dubai International world championship. However, Haifa
al-Musawi has come out straight on the judgment criteria, complaining that she is
unsatisfied with the score she has achieved.
The sport, which is not typical in Arabs, and more
specifically in women, on cultural and professional grounds was the first
international competition Haifa al-Musawi has taken part in. She clearly stated
that the competition was not judged on fair grounds. She feels that there has
been a pinch of biasness for the Western nationalities. Later, her Dubai-based
trained backed her, saying that the judges did not even make eye contact with
her while she was flexing, and she clearly deserved the top three position.
She reasoned that she had more muscles and symmetry as
compared to other athletes who had less developed bodies and legs. She believes
that bodybuilding is not only about flexing, but lean mass and muscles.
